When your family life is in a state of conflict, your emotional and spiritual health often suffers. These uplifting prayers for family conflict will remind you that these problems are only temporary and that the Lord is eternal.
1. Patience Prayer
Dear God, in your infinite wisdom, you started the institution of marriage and family. I believe that my family is a gift from you and the first ministry that you have given to me. But, God, the enemy has waged war against my family. Peace has been replaced with conflict and manipulation. We used to love and respect each other, and now everyone is self-centered. Lord, I repent on behalf of everyone. All of us have wronged you and each other with our selfishness. Forgive us, give us patience so that we can resolve our differences in an amicable way. In Jesus’ name, we pray, Amen.
2. Love Prayer
Lord Jesus, you loved us while we were still sinners and you continue to shower us with your love even when we fail. We have lost track as a family because of pain and pride. We have hurt each other through our actions and words. Lord, let your love take control of our thoughts, actions, and words as we interact with each other. Please help us to value each other the same way you value us and give us the grace to treat each other right. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
3. Peace Prayer
Heavenly Father, I bring our family before your throne. Lord, it has been from one conflict to another, and every time we try to resolve our differences, things keep getting worse. The enemy is determined to separate us, but you are the one who brought us together. I stand firm in the authority that you’ve given me as your child, and I command the devil to leave our family alone. We are covered with the blood of Jesus, and nothing will, by any means, hurt us. In Jesus’ name, I believe and pray, Amen.
4. Forgiveness Prayer
Oh Lord, We have had many disagreements among ourselves as a family. Lord, none of us is ready to admit their mistake; we only want to blame others. Holy Spirit, remind us of the great sacrifice that our heavenly Father made for us through his Son Jesus that we may be humbled in our hearts. Please help us to stop looking at each other’s weaknesses and faults. May we forgive one another and be the family that brings glory to your name. In Jesus’ name, I believe and pray, Amen.
5. Kindness Prayer
Dear Lord, it is hard to be kind to your family when they are mean to you. But being unkind only makes the situation worse. Lord, let your spirit help us to resolve the issues that we have among ourselves. As we meet and discuss our differences help us to show kindness to one another just the way Jesus was kind to sinners. Remove pride from our hearts and help us to see each other as children of God who are dearly loved and forgiven by our heavenly Father. In Jesus’ name, we believe and pray, Amen.
6. Healing Prayer
Dear Lord Jesus, you say in your word that those who labor and are heavy-laden should come to you and you give them rest. Jesus, I come to you with this burden that I’ve been carrying for a long time. There are so many unresolved issues in our family, but no one is willing to resolve them. We are all pretending that everything is fine, but in reality, we are no longer close the way we used to be as a family. Bring healing into our hearts. Let every hurt, pain and bad memories be washed away with your blood. Cleanse us from resentment and bitterness and help us to love one another just the way you love us. We pray this trusting and believing in your holy name, Amen.
7. Humility Prayer
Lord, thank you for my precious family. Thank you for your protection and love towards us. Heavenly Father, the enemy’s hand is against this family. We no longer approach family matters with humility. God, fight for us. Help us to be humble not just towards you and others but even when we are interacting with each other. Even though we might not agree all the time, help us to be humble ourselves and listen to each other even when we have differing views. In Jesus’ name, I believe and pray, Amen.
8. Interests of Others Prayer
Heavenly Father, let your Holy Spirit teach us how to put other people first just the way you put us first by giving up your only Son to die on the cross for us. May we experience your love on a new and deeper level that we may be able to love one another with the love of Christ. May we start putting the interests of others before our selfish interests from this day forward. In Jesus’ name, I believe and pray, Amen.
9. Calmness Prayer
Oh God, thank you for your word because it is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto our path. Your word says that we do not war against flesh and blood but principalities, powers and the rulers of darkness. We come before you as a family today because we know it is the enemy who has been behind the strife that we’ve been experiencing in this house. The enemy is not happy with the progress that we are making as a family. Even though we’ve fallen into the enemy’s traps several times, we are rising again in the power of the Holy Ghost. We declare and decree that conflict is not our portion. Lord, help us to do things that will bring glory to your name. In Jesus’ name, we believe and pray, Amen.
10. Hearts Prayer
Heavenly Father, our hearts are troubled because of the heated exchanges that we have been having as a family. We have turned against each other instead of fighting for our family. Lord remove anger and strife from our midst for where there is strife there is every evil work. Shut every evil door that we have opened for the enemy to come into this family and control us. Still our hearts with your peace and help us to operate in the peace of Christ that surpasses all understanding. In Jesus’ name, we believe and pray, Amen.
11. Mercy Prayer
King of Glory, have mercy on my family. I repent on behalf of every family member for allowing conflict to come between us. Touch our hearts, remove painful memories and help us to be merciful to each other. Please help us to shun evil and to honor you with our relationships. Show us your great power that we may revere you and walk in your ways individually and as a family. In Jesus’ name, we believe and pray, Amen.
