1. A Prayer for Deteriorating Mental Health
Precious Holy Spirit, I pray that You would be with my mom during the scary time as she is facing a new mental battle. Precious Holy Spirit, as You know, her mental health has been deteriorating over the last few months. I pray that You would miraculously restore her to full mental fitness. I think of how You healed the man possessed by Legion and am comforted by how much more powerful You are than anything we will ever face. We are not ready for our mother’s mind to leave us, precious Holy Spirit. If it is Your will that her mind leaves us, please give us peace with this new reality and guide us in how we care for her. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
2. A Prayer for Physical Healing
Jehovah Rapha, my Healer, my mom has been so sick lately. She needs Your miraculous, restorative hand to reach down and touch her body. Give her the healing she needs to overcome this sickness and fully recover. It is taking such a toll on her and I am beginning to worry, Lord. Please intervene soon. You are the Great Physician, Jesus, and I know that You can do all things. I am trusting in You to cure my mom. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
3. A Prayer Against Loneliness
Father of Compassion, I pray that you would restore my mother back to health. Now that she is sick, the loneliness she typically feels is much more severe and she is really down. My mother’s friends are dying, and she has hardly any good friends left. The friends she has left have their own lives, and she is often alone. Please sit with my mother, Father. Hold her hand and heal her. Indwell Your Holy Spirit in her and radiate Your presence from her. Rejuvenate her health and fill her with Your joy, so that she can feel she is not alone. Surround her and wrap her, Lord, in Your never-ending love. I pray she feels well again soon, and that when she is alone she would know nothing of the feelings of loneliness because of her sweet fellowship with You. I pray that You would give her friends and family more time to visit as well. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
4. Prayer for Boredom During Sickness
Maker of Heaven and Earth, I pray that You would be with my mom as she battles boredom while she is trying to get better. Getting older has forced her to slow down, and there are many days she does not feel well. She is often tired and does not want to do much. She spends a lot of time watching TV or playing games on her phone. Now that she has gotten sick, she is miserable in her boredom, and she seems to have given up on life. It must be difficult for her, Lord. Give me the grace to understand how hard it must be for her, and patience with her when she complains. Give me the thoughts and words to guide her to activities she can do while she is recuperating, and those she can do after she gets better to make this last chapter of her life one filled with meaning. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
5. A Prayer for Rest
Jesus, my Savior, please be with my mother. She is always working and has literally worked herself sick. She needs rest, Jesus. I pray that You would give her the time she needs to be able to take care of herself and rejuvenate her body and mind. I pray that things would slow down so that she recuperates. Please lead her and guide her into a season of fruitful and peaceful relaxation and self-care. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
6. A Prayer for Willingness to Go to the Doctor
Lord, Chain-Breaker, please convince my mom that she needs to go to the doctor. She has been sick for so long and has neglected her health. She can be stubborn at times, Lord, and refuses to go see a doctor. I have done all I can to convince her to go. It is up to You now, Lord, to persuade her that she needs to go to the doctor, and soon. Please humble her, take away all fear that she might be feeling, and give me the words to overcome all of her objections. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
7. A Prayer for Medicine to Work
Oh God of my Salvation, I pray that You would be with the medicine my mom has to take over the next few weeks as she tries to heal. Help her to remember to take it every day, and I pray that it would do the job of healing her body. Thank You, Jesus, that she was able to get the medicine she needed, now I pray that it would work. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
8. A Plea for Mercy
God of Mercy and Love, I pray that You would spare my mother. She means so much to me and to so many people. I am not sure what any of us would do without her. She is in such a dire state and we are fearful she will leave us in the world. Please miraculously cure her. Just as You healed those who were blind and mute and lame, please heal my mom. If it is her time to join You, we praise Your holy name, but we do plead You for more time with our beloved mother. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.

Jesus, the Great Physician, I just heard the news that my mom is sick. She is laid up in bed and can’t go about her normal routine. I know how much she loves to be active and to move around the house and the neighborhood. Jesus, I pray that You would heal her and allow her to return to full health. Inactivity must be very demoralizing for her. I pray that You would also ease and pain or discomfort she has during this time until she is healed. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
10. A Prayer for Comfort
God of All Comfort, as my mom is dealing with sickness, I pray that You would comfort her. I am sure that she is fighting against a million fearful thoughts about how serious the sickness is. Lord, I pray that You would be next to her and go before her. Be her comfort and her rock that she does not fear. I also pray, Lord, that it isn’t something serious, but is instead just a temporary cold that runs its course quickly. In Jesus’, name I pray, Amen.

O Lord, my Healer, I pray that You would give my mom two things: first, a full recovery, even if the doctors say that will never happen, and, two, a faith as strong as iron that You will use this sickness and all the pain it has caused for Your good and for the good of those who love You. Oh, Jesus, my Great Healer, I pray that You would restore my mother to full health. Her mental, emotional, and spiritual health have been in decline as of late, Lord. I pray that You would share a small portion of Your divine grace with her. I pray that she would drink deeply of the running waters of Your love, and so be completely healed. I pray that You keep my dear mother with me on this earth for as long as You can spare her from Your holy presence, Jesus. In Your majestic and loving name, I pray, Amen.
13. A Prayer for God’s Physical Healing
Compassionate and Gracious God, I pray that You would reach down with all of Your healing power and shower it on my mom. She is downcast right now, Lord, and her body is failing her. If she is to continue to praise You in the land of the living, she will need a miracle. But You, Jesus, are the God of miracles. You are the King of miracles. You can raise the dead and You can heal the sick. I pray that You would do so now. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
