It is devastating enough in times like this where we have to face such hard trials and tests of life. Especially during this pandemic when our health and those of our loved ones are being threatened. Disheartening as it is, some of us have fallen victim of the virus while others have watched their loved ones contract the deadly virus. In this horrible moment, we can’t but turn to God who is the giver of life and restorer of our health: “The Lord will take away from you all sickness, and will afflict you with none of the terrible diseases of Egypt which you have known, but will lay them on all those who hate you.” Deuteronomy 7:15.
This prayer by St. Pio is a prayer he usually made to God after mass while he was alive. It is a prayer of Thanksgiving and healing. It was while Padre Pio was saying this same prayer after a mass on Friday, September 20, 1918 before the crucifix that the marks of the stigmata (the wounds of Jesus Christ) appeared on his body. Many persons have also testified of miraculous healing while making this prayer or shortly after.
“Heavenly Father, I thank you for loving me.
I thank you for sending your Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ,
to the world to save and to set me free.
I trust in your power and grace that sustain and restore me.
Loving Father, touch me now with your healing hands,
for I believe that your will is for me to be well in mind, body,
soul and spirit.
Cover me with the most precious blood of your Son, our Lord
Jesus Christ from the top of my head to the soles of my feet.
Cast anything that should not be in me.
Root out any unhealthy and abnormal cells.
Open any blocked arteries or veins and rebuild and replenish
any damaged areas.
Remove all inflammation and cleanse any infection by the
power of Jesus’ precious blood.
Let the fire of your healing love pass through my entire body
to heal and make new any diseased areas so that my body
will function the way you created it to function.

Touch also my mind and my emotion, even the deepest
recesses of my heart.
Saturate my entire being with your presence, love, joy, and
peace and draw me ever closer to you every moment of my life.
And Father, fill me with your Holy Spirit and empower me to
do your works so that my life will bring glory and honor to
your holy name. I ask this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Amen.”
St. Pio is popularly known as the first stigmatized priest in the history of the Church. He suffered from poor health all through his life from when he was 9 years old, he is also known for the great Grace his life exuded, for the great miracles which he performed while he was alive and the numerous miraculous healings that have been obtained through his intercession.
While saying this prayer for your ill-health or that of your loved ones too, you are to say it with great faith in God, believing and trusting in Him while awaiting your miraculous healing.
