Novena prayer to St. Andrew for the season of Christmas
As we fast approach the yuletide season, one thing we must take very importantly is prayers. The season is the greatest of all because it commemorates the birth of that great man, Jesus. Hence, our sense of prayers should be at its peak as we yearn to connect with our Lord.
This novena prayer to St. Andrew is very popular and has proven to be miraculous. It is said to prepare the mind and soul for the coming Christmas which usually begins on the feast day of St. Andrew, November 30th and ends on the 24th December. Although, a novena normally is a nine-day period of prayers. However, it is also used to refer to a series of prayers for a specific number of days. This novena is to be said 15 time daily:
“Hail and blessed be the hour and moment in which the Son of God was born Of the most pure Virgin Mary, at midnight, in Bethlehem, in the piercing cold. In that hour vouchsafe, I beseech Thee, O my God, to hear my prayer and grant my desires, [here, mention your request] through the merits of Our Saviour Jesus Christ, and of His blessed Mother. Amen”.
The novena should begin on November 30th. Although Christmas day is already fast approaching, it’s never too late to start, you can join in the grace! Asides your desires being fulfilled, prayers are the best way to bond with God deeply. Devotion to special prayers as this, goes a long way.
