Jesus Christ with Medical Professionals paintings by Nathan Greene.
Nathan Greene writes: The New Testament is full of stories of Jesus healing the sick, the lame, and the blind. As a young man I seriously considered going into medicine and started on that course before deciding to follow the path of becoming an artist. It has been a privilege to combine those two interests by creating paintings centered on both present-day medical professions and the Healing Miracles of Christ. After many early years of doing illustration work I was commissioned to do a large oil painting called “Chief of the Medical Staff”. This came as a direct response to my prayer asking God to direct such a commission my way. I am so grateful that God allowed me to be part of the ministry this painting would offer.
I have received more responses to “Chief of the Medical Staff” than any other painting. It has given encouragement and inspiration to the medical team and peace and assurance to those receiving care. In some cases, it has inspired unbelievers to be convinced of God’s power and careful watch of their lives. Along with this painting is “The Healer”, which was created to honor the nursing profession and their dedication to their patients. Other classics in this category include “The Difficult Case”, “In Good Hands”, and Be Thou My Vision”. Presently, I have the privilege to create a series of twelve paintings portraying the Healing Miracles of Christ. They will be shared when completed.
