Saint Alphonsus suffered from serious arthritis till he died. When he was made bishop, his arthritis of the hips and pelvis became much worse. He also developed curvature of the spine. His arthritis was so severe that he offered masses enduring excruciating pain. Later on, he died and was made patron saint of arthritis patients and the aged.
Why should we pray to Saint Alphonsus for healing of arthritis?
