So many of us at one point in time or another, have been in great lack of food especially due to financial setbacks. Hence, we know the pain of starvation. If you are experiencing such now, do not just stay still, moping and sulking, call on our loving Father who is our great provider to provide for you your daily bread and future means of feeding “Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?” (Matthew 6:26).
We are God’s favourite creatures. His will is that we should have an abundance of food to eat “They will not be disgraced in hard times; even in famine they will have more than enough” (psalm 37:19). Say this prayer:
“Lord Jesus you fed the hungry,
you shared your bread with all.
Your people hunger now,
and we are called to share your bread.
May rains fall upon the dry and broken earth
and quench your people’s thirst,
so seeds grow tall and flourish,
producing a bountiful harvest.
May we share the blessings you give us
and bring comfort to those in need.
May we show love through our actions
so all has enough to eat.
We ask this through Christ our Lord, Amen”.
